SEASON

JANUARY - MARCH: SECRET SEASON
We love this time of year in Kenya - traditionally the high season before the 'migration fixation', it is the warmest time of the year with beautiful days. It's also peak season for the Winelands in South Africa with lovely warm and dry days.

APRIL - JUNE: RAINY SEASON
This is Kenya's rainy season with some camps closing during April and May. By June, the rains have subsided making for very comfortable safari conditions. Autumn is setting in in the Cape Winelands and the days are much cooler and comfortable with some refreshing rain showers at times.
Giraffe Manor is closed 24 April - 11 May | Sala's Camp is closed 19 April - 31 May

JULY - SEPTEMBER: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Kenya is a roar of excitement with the wildebeest migration from the Serengeti arriving in the Maasai Mara and by August, the Mara plains are filled with wildebeest. This is a cooler time of year with clear sunny days and little chances of rain. The Cape Winelands are in-between seasons (very similar to the April – June period) and although there is high chance of rain, there are bright, crisp days to look forward to.

OCTOBER - DECEMBER: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
These are wonderful months in Kenya and the days are getting hot and dry before the November short rains begin. In the Cape Winelands, it's fresh and green after the end of the winter rains, and the days are lovely and warm.
Sala's Camp is closed 1-30 November
