We love this time of year in Kenya - it was traditionally the high season before the 'migration fixation' as it is the warmest time of the year with beautiful days. January is the peak of the wet season in Zambia. February to May is an excellent time to visit the Victoria Falls when it is at its greatest volume, but because of this the Devils Pool closes until August, however one can still swim in other pools such as Angels Pool. Peak season for the Winelands with lovely warm and dry days.

Kenya's rainy season with some camps closing during April and May. By June the rains have subsided making for very comfortable safari conditions. In Zambia most of the rain has disappeared by mid-May when the landscape is rich and lush. A lovely time to visit the Falls. Autumn is setting in in the Cape Winelands, the days are much cooler and comfortable with some refreshing rain showers.
Giraffe Manor is closed 24 April - 11 May | Sala's Camp is closed 19 April - 31 May

Kenya is a roar of excitement with the wildebeest migration from the Serengeti arriving in the Maasai Mara, by August the Mara plains are filled. This is a cooler time of year with clear sunny days and little chances of rain. It is peak season in Zambia and a fantastic time to visit the Victoria Falls. The water levels have dropped allowing for access to the Devils Pool. The Cape Winelands are in-between seasons, very similar to the April – June period and high chances of rain.

These are wonderful months in Kenya, the days are getting hot and dry before the November short rains. Zambia gets very hot in October, perfectly suited for those 'do nothing days' at The River Club. It's fresh and green in the Cape Winelands after the winter rains, and the days are lovely and warm.
Sala's Camp is closed 1-30 November
