SEASON

JANUARY - MARCH: SECRET SEASON
This is a fantastic time to be in Kenya and Tanzania! It is the warmest time of the year and was traditionally the high season before the 'migration fixation'. The southern Serengeti can be wetter than the Mara and the wildebeest are in the south to give birth to their young.

APRIL - JUNE: RAINY SEASON
Kenya and Tanzania's rainy season start in April through May. It is an excellent time to visit northern Kenya – Sasaab. As the dry arid area springs to life and offers excellent light for photography. Please note some camps are closed during April and May. By June the rains have subsided making for very comfortable safari conditions.
Giraffe Manor is closed 24 April - 11 May | Legendary Serengeti Mobile Camp is closed 1 - 15 May

JULY - SEPTEMBER: PEAK SAFARI SEASON
This is peak safari season in East Africa and we do suggest making your bookings well in advance. Days are lovely and warm with cooler nights and normally very little rain. Kenya is a roar of excitement with the wildebeest migration arriving from the Serengeti in the Maasai Mara, by August the plains are completely filled.

OCTOBER - DECEMBER: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Like January to March, September and October are another ‘secret season’ and the perfect time for travellers who are not bound by school holidays. These are wonderful months to visit Kenya and Tanzania. It can get quite hot and dry before the November short rains.
Sasaab is closed 9 - 30 November
