In July 2012, Kwandwe was bought by USA-based investors, the Chouest Family. Conservation and communities lie at the heart of the Chouest’s investment in Kwandwe. The whole family visit on an annual basis to enjoy all the reserve has to offer.

Fort House is a sole-use safari home with ample space for 2 families travelling together. Ideally located on a knoll overlooking one of the main waterholes allowing guests to enjoy splendid views of the wildlife from the comfort of their private patios, the swimming pool and the boma.

In a ground-breaking move, Kwandwe initiated its own social development arm in 2002, unique to the reserve and the surrounding rural communities. The Ubunye Foundation, is the soul of Kwandwe. Energy and resources are focused on those living in poverty-stricken rural areas where access to basic goods and services, in particular, education and healthcare, is severely limited.
